It goes to say most women who dream of getting married have that vision of the picture-perfect relationship. Marrying a partner who is your best friend. Blah Blah Blah. I am not a skeptic, there are those scenarios, but for the average relationship your partner is not your best friend and most likely you are going above and beyond to please someone you are still getting to learn more about every day.

As women, we put so much pressure on ourselves to live up to those expectations put on us by society or nowadays social media. You know the perfectly clean home with white carpets and decorative couches. The Instagram photo op of your freshly cooked homemade meal because your in-laws are coming over for the first time. Let’s not forget about your amazing ability to bake, manage to never have laundry spread across your floors, and dishes always put away. These are not things which make us great wives. These are just accessories.

As a woman, you grow into a loving and caring individual. A human who treats others with kindness and does these things out of pure enjoyment of your heart, not an obligation. There is no rule book or underlying marriage clause which defines what a wife should be. No those are societal expectations, sometimes your own expectations. Well if you do not…
